Ballistocardiography (BCG)
Definition
Measuring the tiny mechanical recoil of the body caused by each heartbeat, using motion or pressure sensors instead of electrodes or light.
BCG enables contact-light heart and respiration sensing in collars, beds and seats. Signals are small and easily swamped by motion, so evidence plans must define when readings are valid and how they are checked against a reference.
